Remedial Massage

Personalised treatment designed to reduce pain, improve movement and support long term recovery. Every session is tailored to your goals and how your presenting on the day.

What is Remedial Massage?

Remedial massage is a hands-on treatment designed to reduce pain, improve movement and support recovery. It combines assessment with targeted manual therapy to address muscle tension, joint stiffness and movement restrictions that may be contributing to your symptoms.

Rather than following a routine massage sequence, every treatment is guided by your individual presentation. Depending on your needs, treatment may include deep tissue techniques, trigger point therapy, myofascial techniques, stretching, joint mobilisation or movement advice.

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing ongoing discomfort or simply wanting to move more comfortably, remedial massage aims to help restore function so you can return to the activities that matter most.

How can it help?

Remedial massage may help with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions and movement related concerns including:

Neck and back pain
Headaches related to muscle tension
Shoulder pain
Hip and glute pain
Sporting injuries
Muscle tightness and stiffness
Postural discomfort
Overuse injuries
General aches and pains
Recovery from training or physical work
Many people also choose remedial massage as part of their regular health routine to help maintain movement, reduce muscle tension and support ongoing physical wellbeing.

What happens during a treatment?

Your appointment begins with a conversation about your symptoms, goals and medical history. We’ll assess how you’re moving, identify areas that may be contributing to your discomfort and discuss an appropriate treatment plan.

Treatment is always tailored to you. The Pressure and techniques used will depend on your presentation, goals and comfort. We'll communicate throughout your treatment, making adjustments as needed to ensure your comfortable and that your treatment is tailored to you individual needs. If appropriate, your treatment may also incorporate techniques such as dry needling, cupping or movement advice to support your recovery.

Throughout your treatment we’ll explain what we’re doing and why, ensuring you’re comfortable and involved in the process.

What can I expect afterwards?

Many people feel looser, lighter and move more freely immediately after treatment. Some experience mild soreness similar to what you might feel after exercise, particularly if tight or sensitive tissues have been treated. This usually settles within 24–48 hours.

We’ll also discuss any simple exercises, movement strategies or self-management advice that may help maintain your progress between appointments.

Recovery doesn’t finish when you leave you appointment—understanding your condition and having practical strategies to manage it are important parts of achieving lasting results.

Why Peak Motion Therapy?

At Peak Motion Therapy, we believe great treatment starts with understanding why you’re experiencing symptoms—not simply treating where it hurts.

Every session is personalised to your goals, your lifestyle and how you’re presenting on the day. We don’t follow a one-size-fits-all routine, and we don’t rely on a single technique. Instead, we use the most appropriate combination of hands-on therapy, education and practical advice to help you move better with confidence.

Our goal isn’t simply to help you feel better today—it’s to support long-term movement, recovery and confidence so you can continue doing the things that matter most to you.
